A Good Guy and a Great Cause

Hello everyone -
Just a quick post today. My friend Woody sent me an email earlier that he is shaving his head in support of children receiving cancer treatments. So for the thousands of you that read this blog, if you would like to donate to a great cause, click this link:

It's kind of cold to be bald in Chicago right now, so show Woody some support!

Hunk a hunk a burnin' something...

So, I was at a conference with my client in California last week. It was held at the Pachenga Indian Casino in Temecula. Most of it was fairly boring - the usual, meetings with the client, discussions on current issues, etc. We had dinner at a winery one night, hung out at the casino and saw the worst Elvis impersonator - it was hilarious! He was awful. He was wearing the tightest black pants with a HUGE gold belt. He couldn't swing his hips and he did not sound a thing like Elvis. I thought it was hilarious, but others not so much.

When we left to come home on Friday, it was 77 degrees in California. When we landed in Chicago, 7. Brrr, cold. I really dislike winter in the midwest! So, now I'm back and I really have nothing else to say, so I'm going to go watch Friday's episode of Psych...

Ramble, ramble, ramble...

Ah, another week has begun. This week I will be heading out to California for an annual meeting with a client. Should be fun, the actual meetings notwithstanding. The conference is being held in an Indian casino & resort and you all know how much I love to play poker! The weather should be nice, gambling, free food and drink - sounds great to me.

I am happy to announce that the new season of Psych started on Friday and it is just as awesome as ever! It's a USA Network show, so the seasons are shorter (12 episodes I think) and they split them up 6 episodes at a time, so we have 5 more new episodes to look forward to. Which is good, because the WGA strike is still going strong. What are you guys doing with your free tv time? I am spending some time at the gym, but also catching up on some shows on dvd that I missed. I watched the first season of Ugly Betty over the holidays and am now finishing up the available seasons of the show Numb3rs from CBS. Numb3rs is an interesting show and who would have guessed the Northern Exposure guy was so buff? Plus, the main character played Mr. Universe on Serenity, so woohoo! I am not sure what show I am going to move on to next. Thank goodness for the library - an entire season on dvd, $1.00 for a week rental. YAY! If anyone has recommendations, let me know.

Well, I really should do some work. Have a great week! I will think of you all while I am in sunny California...

Until next time -

Post-Holiday Stress

I think I'm suffering from post-holiday stress disorder. It is my very own disease. The symptoms include freaking out over the money you spent, becoming overly organized, making lists so that next year you will NOT be out shopping on Christmas Eve and others. Please consult your physician if you are experiencing these symptoms. On a high note, this disorder can result in a cleaner, more organized home.

I hope everyone had a great New Year's. Our party was fun. There was tons of great food, hyper crazy kids, Wii, and good company. A pretty good way to ring in 2008 in my book. I love the holidays, but I am glad to see them go when it's over.

Tonight, I am going to see Juno with my SIL. The previews make this movie look hilarious, so I am pretty excited. I still need to see Charlie Wilson's War and I admit it, I want to see the Water Horse, though it can wait for dvd.

Well, I should get back to work - they say I have to actually do work related things when I am here - blasphemy!

Until next time -
